History
Chaplaincy has been a long tradition at Prince Alfred College.
Initially, chaplaincy was provided by the incumbent minister at Kent Town Methodist (now Wesley Uniting) Church.
The first full time chaplain to be appointed to the college was an old scholar, the Rev Charles (Redwing) Perry. That was in 1945.
Since 1945 there have been eight chaplains:
The Rev Charles Perry (1945 - 1955)
The Rev Kyle Waters (1955– 1975)
The Rev Ken Allen (1976 – 1982) )
The Rev Garth Nelson (1983 - 1988)
The Rev Alan Green (Acting) 1989
The Rev Dr Adrian Brown ( 1990 - 2003 )
The Rev Trevor Klar ( 2004 - 2009)
The Rev Mark Dickens (2009 -
Until 1983 the minister at the Kent Town church assisted in the provision of chaplaincy services.
Chaplains who have been appointed to Princes have also been ordained ministers of the Uniting Church in Australia or, prior to 1977 when the UCA came into being, they were ministers of the Methodist Church.
